Sod Assay Kit

A Sod Assay Kit measures superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity in various samples. It has been developed to detect all types of SOD. The assay kit contains a standard bovine erythrocyte SOD and a reagent called Xanthine Oxidase. This kit is also suitable for measuring total SOD activity in cell lysates, serum, and gastric mucosa homogenates.

The SOD Assay Kit is a simple and accurate method for quantitative determination of SOD activity in mammalian tissue. It utilizes a tetrazolium salt (WST-8) as a detection agent for Sod Assay Kit factory  superoxide. This dye is sensitive enough to detect the presence of SOD in human plasma and serum. It is compatible with Absorbance 96 Plate Reader. It is a reliable and fast assay that is suitable for research and diagnostic testing.

The SOD Assay Kit requires a 96-well microplate, a 450 nm filter, a reagent plate reader, a multichannel pipette, and a Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) standard. This kit also requires a concentration of 15 mL of Enzyme Solution and 2.5 mL of Dilution Buffer. To perform the Assay, mix the reagent solution with the SOD standard and prepare the inhibition curve.

Superoxide dismutase is an important antioxidant enzyme. It catalyzes the dismutation of the superoxide anion to hydrogen peroxide and molecular oxygen. To measure the activity of SOD, several methods have been developed. Most commonly, nitroblue tetrazolium or Xanthine Oxidase activity is used. Xanthine Oxidase can be reduced to form water-soluble formazan dye, and the enzyme activity was measured within 15 minutes.

To use the SOD Assay Kit, prepare SOD working solution 1 and store it in dark. Once the working solution has been prepared, prepare the Xanthine Oxidase stock solution by adding 50 mL of Assay Buffer. Add 2.5 mL of SOD working solution 2 to this. Once all of the samples have been added, mix the reagent with the test sample. Once everything is well mixed, the test result will be displayed.
